John Miles Memorial Fund

On March 13th, 2020 we lost one of our volunteers, Mr. John Miles. His wife Ann sent us this article to share in John’s memory. A John Miles Memorial Fund has been established in his honor.  Thank you for all your support! We will miss you John!

John Miles

John and I recently moved to The Triangle and learned about Bridge the Gap at our Sunday school class at First United Methodist in Cary.

We wanted to volunteer at an organization that was making a real difference in helping people improve their lives. When we volunteered at the Santa’s Workshop, we met Otis Hardy, whose story-his success and how he credits and continues to give back to Bridge the Gap-is so inspirational.

We also had the chance to talk with clients, people who were at Bridge the Gap not only for a meal but also because they recognized a chance to get the help they needed to achieve real change in their lives.

John would be happy to know that the donations made in his honor are supporting Bridge the Gap’s work to help feed and support people most at risk during the current crisis. …Ann Miles

Just reading this piece about John Miles and Bridge the Gap—really moving reminder of community impact. It’s clear the focus is charitable outreach and support during tough times, not beauty industry topics. While I respect the work, I’d like to keep the conversation on community service and how donors and volunteers sustain programs. If you’re in beauty, think about local partnerships that mirror this model and support clients beyond the chair. In Suplery we emphasize practical tools for local beauty pros, like a shared cart for real-time orders and a single dashboard for suppliers, helping shops run smoother and serve clients better. If you’re exploring a platform to streamline operations, see how our starter kits and service protocols can help new teams onboarding quickly. Thanks for sharing this heartfelt story. Consider channeling donations or volunteer efforts through your network to maximize impact.
